A String Of Lies - (A Random Chapter in the story)

Distance was all that mattered as I ran up the stairs. Tears were gushing down my face, my heart ricocheting against my chest with immense speed and the echo of my mum's voice shouting for me to get to safety was still lingering in the air.
Thank God my room has a lock, I thought to myself as I shut the door and locked it. I then barricaded the door with my huge chest of draws. Where I got the strength to push is beyond me but I guess with all this adrenaline passing through it makes sense.
Now buried in my wardrobe I kept silent listening out for my mum. I hadn't heard anything since I got up here. The last thing I remember was the sound of a car pulling up to the house with a bright light shining through the window almost blinding the both of us.
Is she okay? Does she need my help? Why is all of this fucked up shit happening?
It's all my fault...
"Stay away!"
I jumped at the sound of her voice.
The door downstairs began to bang in unison with someone's voice that was filled with immense rage but I couldn't make out who it was. Then there was another loud bang.
I slowly opened one side to my wardrobe, gently walked over to my door to unlock it. I'm sure this was stupid but I had to see if my mum was okay.
I tried my best not to make any sort of noise as I opened the door slightly but I failed with flying colours. I was frozen on the spot. I looked left then right but saw nothing either side of the hallway, it was clear for me to proceed.
I tiptoed down the stairs, holding one hand firmly across my mouth. In the silence, I could hear the wind sweeping around. It was dark outside and inside the house apart from the flicker of light to the right of me in the passageway leading to the front room.
As my right foot settled on the floor on my arrival downstairs I felt a draft swirl up on the left-hand side where the front entrance was. When I looked towards that direction the door was slightly open. My heart felt like it was literally colliding against my chest fiercely, I felt the hairs on my arms stand to attention, as an army of chills march down my spine.
"Aaliyah run! Get out of here".
I turn around to see my mum spread out on the floor.
Literally, at that moment everything fell away. I can no longer hear anything, my focus is firmly fixed on her as I look on.
I attempt to rush to her side but then I feel a sharp pain to the side of my head that makes me lose balance. I slam into the ground hard, everything is slowly going pitch black. The light flickering allows me to briefly see two figures standing next to each other.
I guess this is where it all ends.

  3. Honestly rate your stories mate but as she opened the door up stairs to see if her mother was ok, what ever happened to the wardrobes she used as barricades?
